It's a ...

So Sophie has been calling "it" Baby Jack for a couple of months now, probably due to her favorite movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean." She'll open my mouth really wide and stick her face in to yell down to my tummy: "Hi, Baby Jack!" Or when I eat a piece of cheese she'll say "Mommy eat cheese, now Baby Jack eats the cheese." So Baby Jack "it" has been. Cute as it is, we have never intended to really name our child Jack.

Even so, we're going to have to come up with a new, more feminine name because our ultrasound revealed BABY JACK IS A GIRL!

I'm so elated! Knowing this is our last child, it was hard at first to imagine whether we wanted a boy to play t-ball with or a girl for sisterhood. Ultimately, Michael and I both agreed wholeheartedly that we wanted a girl to be a sister and frenemy to Sophie and another sugary sweet princess for our family. I so love my sister, and believe strongly in the unique experiences sisterhood provides. I can't wait to see how each of our girls develops together, and as unique individuals. Michael is already a sucker for "his girls," and we can add our new baby to his Junebug Club. The only drawbacks: extra hormonal tantrums, mean girls at school, and two weddings to pay for.

Being boy-less is a little bittersweet. Michael loves football, but coached a little league team (for Californians, that means pop warner) even as a student so I don't think this will stop him. He doesn't need a boy "buddy;" Soph has been to more basketball and football games than I have, cheering wholeheartedly. Though he's committed to the idea of carrying on a family legacy, he has never felt that it ought to be carried by a male heir. I'll never have that experience of having a little boy enamored by his mommy. Then again, I'll avoid circumcision (wow, I actually spelled it right), saying goodbye to an Elder, and daughters-in-law.

I'll spare you the fuzzy alien-looking ultrasound pics. I will also add, if anyone is interested, that all limbs appear to be intact and organs seem to be functioning properly. Our due date of June 21 may be pushed up to around June 15. Little Un-Jack is a mover and shaker, had her huge eyes wide open the whole time. Can't wait to meet her!

And if the day couldn't get any better, thanks to my sister-in-law's info, I got free Vera Wang Princess body lotion at Dillard's and Ralph Lauren Romance body wash at Nordstrom. What a sweet day!

Yay yay yay! What happy news! I am so freaking excited for you. It's perfect as Sophie's perfection of a wardrobe really shouldn't go to waste just yet. Can't wait to talk baby names! Jacqueline?

Yeah! First off I am so happy that you and baby jack are healthy. I am also so happy for you guys to have another girl. Sophie is the most adorable girl I have meet (not that I am bias) and I know without a doubt that she will be blessed by having a sister. Her dad was anyways~

Congrats! I am sure little girls are so fun . . . I am afraid I will never know. Hope you are feeling better. See you in a couple of weeks.
ps-could you take my last name off your blog list. Nate works with some crazies and it just makes it a bit harder to google us when the names are not together! Thanks.
