Oh What a Joy!

Last week was my turn to host Sophie's Joy School class.  Oh my gosh, they are the cutest six munchkins on the planet!  The lesson plans covered Autumn and Fall Leaves: we sang a little ditty, took a "nature walk" in the backyard to recognize all the red and orange and green and brown leaves, did a color matching craft, and made necklaces with the kids' leaf discoveries in Contact paper.  To greet the kiddos at the front door, I hung colorful die-cut leaves with ribbon.  For snack, we ate lettuce...I'm not kidding, I called them "edible leaves" and they loved it!  Of course, I had to supplement with Teddy Grahams.  Soph wasn't so big on sharing her world, surprise.  By the end of those two hours, I was totally beat!

Oh wowie... I was a Joy-Schooler myself back in the day. I'm so happy to know that it's still around.
